We took a taxi to the top to visit some of the monastaries. This is the Verlaam monastery near the top- where we had a long 2 hour theological discussion with one of the monks - who then invited us into the personal quarters for coffee and sweets. Learned a lot about their traditions, theology and faith.Another view.
Another view from the top looking down on Kastraki where we are staying. We hiked down from here to the town. A great hike except for the rain.
